The Hammer, The Fire & The Sword

The word of God is a hammer.

The word of God is a fire.

The word of God is a sword.

To the sinner—

A hammer hitting a rock will crush it. A hammer hitting gold will form it. You must become a new and different material completely.

A fire will burn a wood shed to the ground. A fire in the hearth of a cabin will warm and comfort everyone inside. You must become a new house.

A sword will kill an enemy. A sword will save your life. Are you an enemy of God?

To the Saint —

A hammer will build a house or destroy a foundation.

A fire will burn hotter as you feed it or it will go out. It’s easiest to transfer when it’s very very hot. 

A sword will cut away cancer and save a life when it is sharp. When it is only used for daily labor, it becomes dull and is only useful for common daily labor. 

You should never show up with a hammer, torch, or sword, unless you are confidently ready to use it.
